10. Care of the Batteries
If the apparatus is not to be used for a long period of time (more than 4-5 days), it is recommended to remove the battery from the apparatus in order to void its complete and irreversible discharge. Batteries in storage should be recharged once a month for 1-2 hours.
Recharging of Batteries:
Batteries should be recharged according to the instructions supplied with the battery charger.
If there are no such instructions, use standard procedures for recharging batteries:
Connection and disconnection of the battery to the charger should be carried out with the latter disconnected from the mains;
The standard charge cycle is 11 mA for 14 hours;
Batteries should not be left in storage connected to the charger.
! Batteries are supplied uncharged and should therefore be charged prior to installation.
! "NIKA" batteries are sensitive to overcharging. Overcharging causes the battery to "swell" and lose capacity. Recharging a not-fully-discharged battery for the full recharge may cause overcharging.
